Just a reminder that tomorrow is our first early release Wednesday. Children will be dismissed an hour early at 2:00.

Wait! Don't recycle that!!  Please send in any egg cartons you may have to aid us in our math lessons this week. 

The First Week of School

The first 4 days of first grade went by in a flash. We've been busy this week decorating our classroom, reading stories, playing games and getting to know one another.  The weather has been so hot I thought the kids might melt but a few trips to the air conditioned library upstairs was just what we needed to make it through. 
Today we talked about Hopes and Dreams for this year.  Many students are aspiring to become better readers and writers while some want to focus on arts and sports.  They are all great and so isn't our adorable bouquet we made to display them.  (picture coming soon)
Next week we will begin to add in more academics while we continue to practice rules, routines, and expectations.
